MDI boys basketball rallies to beat Winslow in Class B North quarterfinals

BANGOR — Sophomore guard James Witham was doubled team for most of Mount Desert Island’s Class B North boys basketball quarterfinal against Winslow on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Arena.

Witham was able to heat up in the second half, scoring 12 of his 15 points, and the Trojans rallied for a 46-38 win.

MDI improves to 11-8 and advances to face the winner of Saturday’s late game between Caribou and Belfast in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Winslow ends the season 11-7.
